I don't want to spend more than about $500. I'm narrowing my choices down to two possibilities: 1) Smith & Wesson SW22 Victory. 2) Browning Buck Mark Practical, URX grip. I know both guns are fairly well-regarded by rimfire aficionados. They are within about $50 of each other in price.

I prefer the Mark III or IV, but not the 22/45 versions. The grip angle feels wrong even though I shoot 1911's often. The standard Mark grip just feels better to me. I've shot the S&W victory before and again I just didn't feel like the grip was comfortable, but that is all subjective to the user.

Both are solid shooters, I think you need to decide which grip you like (maybe take a trip to a shop and see how the grip angle feels on both). Welcome to the forum!

It is a polymer frame, the same as the Lite model. The difference is the upper and barrel. The 22/45 Tactical has a steel upper and heavy steel barrel whereas the Lite has an aluminum upper and sleeved barrel. Now the Mark IV Tactical has an aluminum frame, but it should be noted that it is a different handle configuration than the 22/45 versions.
